Installation

 

Note: To install uCreate Print, you must have administrative privileges.

Before Starting the Installation

   The uCreate Print plug-in software is available for Windows or Macintosh.

   uCreate Print requires Adobe InDesign CS5, CS5.5 or CS6. A trial version of InDesign can be downloaded from www.adobe.com.

   If your InDesign desktop application has never been launched, launch it now and then close the application.

   If multiple versions of Adobe Creative Suite are installed on the same machine, XMPie products are installed only on the latest Adobe version.

For example, if both InDesign  CS5.5 and CS6 are installed on the same computer, the XMPie installation is performed only on InDesign CS6.

It is advised to install a single version of Adobe products on the machine intended to run your XMPie products.

Note: If both the English and the Japanese InDesign versions are installed on the same machine, the uDirect plug-in is added only to the English version.

1.   Double click the uCreate Print installer.

The installation process begins.

2.   Follow the installer's instructions.

3.   After the installation ends, it is recommended to restart your computer.

4.   Launch Adobe InDesign.

The XMPie uCreate Print Palette is displayed and you can start working with uDirect.

 

Note: If the XMPie uCreate Print Palette does not open automatically, open it from the InDesign Windows menu, by choosing Windows > XMPie uCreate Print.

Activating Your License Key

you launch uCreate Print for the first time, you are asked to activate your license.

Running uImage on the Mac

When Photoshop CS5 or CS 5.1 is installed on the Mac, it can run in two modes: 64 bit (the default mode) and 32 bit.

To use Photoshop CS5 or CS 5.1 with , you need to change Photoshop's default mode from 64 bit to 32 bit as follows:

 

Note: The following procedure is not required if you use Photoshop CS6.

1.   Go to Applications.

2.   Locate the Adobe Photoshop folder.

3.   Locate the Adobe Photoshop file.

4.   Right-click the file to open the Info dialog box.

5.   Select the Open in 32 Bit Mode option.

6.   Close the Info dialog box.
